Blackjack Strategy

Online Blackjack is a game of cards played in online casinos. It is by far the most popular casino table games since it involves the player’s actions and has the best odds. The primary purpose of Blackjack is to get as close to 21 and not go over while at the same time have a higher score than the dealer. A bet is always placed before receiving cards. Cards are dealt in a rotation form from the dealer. The dealer’s hand contains a card facing up while the other facing downwards. There are several ways for a player to win this game:

•The player wins if the dealer has cards that score higher than 21
•The player wins if his cards are closer to 21 than the dealers
•The player wins if the dealers score is 21 and constituted of more than 2 cards

However, the player loses if his card’s score is more than 21

Blackjack Strategy

This Blackjack strategy covers the six basic steps of the game which are discussed in detail in the subsequent paragraphs. Each step follows the other in a very well-ordered chronological manner.
Hitting and Standing

The most crucial place to begin at is hitting and standing. The most important thing for the player to remember is that the Dealer always has to take a hit on any hand 16 or lower. With that said, you will not win much money when you are holding less than 17, except if the Dealer busts.
This can be explained explicitly as: If your hand is below 17, and the Dealer is showing an Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9 or 8, you need to take a hit. This is because, whenever the Dealer has one of these cards, their chances of busting are very unlikely. So, unless you clear 16, your chances of winning are also slim.
You may be wondering when you should stand. The best time to stand is when your hand is above 12, and the Dealer shows a 4, 5 or 6. When the Dealer is showing any of these three cards, his chances of busting are highest. Anytime you happen to bust yourself instead of busting the Dealer, you are obviously not winning as much money as you should be winning.

Doubling Down

The most efficient and fastest way to earn money when playing Blackjack is by effectively doubling down at every opportunity that presents itself. Doubling down can make you increase the bet twofold or end up costing you double if you do it in a wrong spot. The first and foremost rule of doubling down is always to double down any hand totaling 11. It doesn’t matter what the Dealer displays, if you hit a 10 when you’ve got 11 there’s no way he’ll beat you.

Another good time to take the opportunity to double down is when your hand is 10, and the Dealer is showing a 9 or lower, double it up. When your hand is a 9, or you have a soft hand (that is an ace counted as 11) between 13 and 17 against a Dealer’s 4, 5 or 6, double it up. Those hands give you the best shot at cashing in when you double down.

The final strategy of the blackjack that tends to be loved and hated by everyone in equal measure is splitting. Splitting is highly profitable when done with the right cards. Otherwise, it could end up costing you heavily by splitting a winning hand into a pair of losers.

One thing to remember when splitting is never to split ten’s or five’s. Tens are any card valued 10, whether it is the actual 10 or any face card. On the contrary, always split Aces and eights, no matter what the Dealer is showing.
The reason you should split is rather apparent. Eights, on the other hand, are quite a perplexing lot. A pair of eights equals 16, which is a middle-of-the-road hand in Blackjack. Like it was mentioned, with 16 being your single possibility of winning is in the event the Dealer hits more than 21. Splitting your cards into eights gives you the chances of attaining 2 hands with a higher value than 16 which is quite good.

Soft Hands

A novice in Blackjack can find a challenge in soft hands since they got particular requirements when it gets to hitting, doubling down or even standing. Don’t forget that soft hands are cards with an Ace, and where the gamer can make a choice of 2 totals, for example, Ace and 5 could be 6 or 16.

You want to hit a soft 13 through 17 whenever the Dealer is showing 7 or higher. Remember, with any soft hand, no matter what card you receive, you cannot bust. Well, the tricky part is: doubling soft hands. Anytime you have a soft 13 through 17, only double down when the Dealer shows a 5 or 6. Anytime you have a soft 15 through 17, double up only when the Dealer puts across a 5 or 6. Mostly, it is important to stand on a soft 18, but when the Dealer is sporting a 9, 10 or Ace, you’ll better take a hit. With your soft 18, always stand versus a 2, 7 or 8, and double down against a 3, 4, 5 or 6. No matter what the Dealer is showing, always stand on a soft 19 or higher.
And lastly, on soft hands, if the Dealer holds a 2 and you’ve got a soft hand, do not double down.

In the long run, insurance is not worth it, but one of the worst plays you can make is insuring a hand of 20 made of up two 10’s. Think of it this way: you’re protecting yourself against the Dealer having a 10 when you’ve already reduced the odds of him having one by having two.

Many players fear having a push forced on them and end up taking ‘even money’. Even money is when one insures on their Blackjack vs. a Dealer’s Ace since no matter the Dealer’s hand they can make an ‘even money’ payout of 1-1 on your Blackjack. By taking even money, you could be giving away potential winnings. You may lose out on a few wins once in awhile, but your Blackjack account will be reduced in the long run by taking even money.

Do not be afraid of surrender if the option is presented to you. If, after the cards are dealt, the Dealer is way ahead, and the chances of you pulling out a win are slim it’s a smart move to surrender. You will get 50 percent of the bet back and live to play another hand. If you’re stuck on when to surrender and when to play on, remember this: always surrender with a hard 15 when the Dealer has a 10, and always surrender with a hard 16 when the Dealer has a 9, 10 or ace.

Blackjack is a game of strategy and with more playing, one can always improve their game and mastery of the cards. You can always learn more tips and strategies anytime you involve yourself in playing. However, with the above strategies you will definitely be in a better position to win.
